Arath de la Torre

With his boyish smile, and down to earth personality, one can say that this soap opera king who is part George Clooney, part Johnny Knoxville and part Robin Williams, is sure to make us laugh when he visits Brownsville next month to be honored as the 47th inductee into the Mr. Amigo ring of honor.
Born on March 20, 1974, in Mexico City and raised in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Arath moves back to his hometown of Mexico City at the age of 17 to study at the Centro de Educacion Artistica (CEA) and pursue his life-long dream of becoming an entertainer. He lands his first role in the popular Televisa soap opera Tu y Yo and follows that a few years later with appearances in the comedy TV show La Parodia, alongside his younger brother Ulisses.
His success continues to grow and Arath eventually becomes the host of the TV sitcom La Hora de La Papa along with Mexican beauty queen Galilea Montijo. It is during this period in his life that the first of his greatest accomplishments occurs. Alongside his beautiful wife Susy Lu, they give birth to their daughter, Gala.
